Selecting a search result opens its code details.

  • The code itself.

Verified examples

For ICD-10-CM, the verified example is E11.9 — Type 2 diabetes mellitus without complications. For ICD-10-PCS, 0FT44ZZ is an example code whose details are shown in the application; no description is invented for it here. For HCPCS Level II, G0008 carries a validation note — see HCPCS Level II.

AI explanations

Where the application offers an AI explanation, treat it as guidance to check against the official description and applicable coding guidelines, not as a substitute for them. AI content is advisory and must not be described as an authoritative code-set replacement or a guaranteed correct code assignment.

Understanding results

Compare the official description with the applicable guidelines and documentation before use. If an AI answer differs from the official source, follow the authoritative source and report the discrepancy.

Limitations

Code Lookup is decision support. It does not replace payer policy, coding guidelines or professional judgement.
